Step 1:
Firstly, we created the background for our film poster on Indesign. As we knew we wanted the image to take up the majority of the poster we left a lot of space and kept the title along the bottom of the poster. We chose to have the effect 'outer glow' on the 'Surface' in order for effect, and make the word stand out from the others. After making the background we needed to add the image.
Step 2:
We took a picture of my face and cropped it on powerpoint in order to just have half of my face. We then took this image and opened up into photoshop. Here, we cut around the face with the magnetic lasso tool and then deleted the area surrounding my face in order to leave just my hair and face.
Step 3:
After saving the file on photoshop, we placed the picture of me onto our film poster background.
Step 4:
We wanted the image to have a faded effect, so we right clicked on the picture and selected gradient feather. We then adjusted the direction and clicked OK.
Step 5:
After adjusting the gradient feather, this was the end result.
Step 6:
We wanted to make the eyes of each girl stand out and wanted Elizabeth's eye to be a brighter blue. So in photoshop, we got the magnetic lasso tool and clicked a pattern around her iris.
Step 7:
We then went to 'Image' and then clicked 'Adjustments' which led to a drop down menu where we clicked 'Hue/saturation'.
Step 8:
After this, a box appeared for the Hue/Saturation so we dragged the small arrow on the top bar along to the far left and also adjusted the saturation to the far left. We chose to make the eye bright blue as my eye on the poster was bright green and we wanted different colours in order to show a different personality. The colours added impact as they were bright colours but were also believable.
Step 9:
After placing the image of Elizabeth into the poster, our poster was nearly complete.
Step 10:
After adding the small poster text to the bottom, we made the '2012' red, in order to connotate danger and make the '2012' stand out so that everyone knew the release date.
