The first actress we considered for the role of Mia,grown up, was Holly Martin.
We saw holly as a good choice for the role of Mia, grown up, as she fitted the age of the character. She was also a realistic idea for what Elizabeth, who played the younger Mia, would look like when she was older. She had a car therefore she would be able to get to the shooting location quite easily. However, as she had a full-time job she was unavailable for a lot of the time that we needed her and this therefore delayed our production schedule.
I was the second actress considered for the role of Mia, grown up.
I was considered for the role, as I was a co-maker of the media product and therefore had developed the character of Mia and knew how she should be played. I fitted the age category well, and also had an extremely close resembelence to Elizabeth. I was also available a lot so I was therefore chosen for the role of the adult Mia.
The third actress chosen to play the role of the child Mia, was Elizabeth.
We chose Elizabeth for this role as we did a screen test, and found she was a very skilled actress, and was very believable. She was able to understand the character and listened well to the director who was me. It was also useful that she was the other co-maker of the media product jack's sister. This meant he could bring her to the shooting location as he was coming anyway.
The fourth actress chosen to play the role of the therapist was Ruth Highfield.
Ruth was chosen for the role of the therapist as she was very realistic in terms of age and looks. She has the professional, intelligent look that would convince someone she was a therapist. She was able to learn her lines easily and was a very believable actress. It was an advantage that she was tjthe other co-maker's mum, meaning she could come along to the shooting location with him on time.
The actor chosen for the role of the dad was jack Highfield.
Jack was chosen for this role as he was the other co-maker of the product and therefore knew this character well. As he helped create this character he knew how the character should behave. He was believable and followed any direction I gave him. As he had his own method of transport he showed up to the shooting location on time.
Here is the call sheet of when we required these actors.
